Founding product designer (head of product design)
2021 - 2025
Lexense is on a mission to rebuild the way justice is served.
The data-driven platform allows clients to easily exercise their legal rights by unlocking access to the court system.
As the founding designer, I was responsible for owning and managing product design within the company, overseeing all aspects from UX strategy to implementation for both the client platform and professional team admin interface.
↳ UX requirements and user story mapping (blurred content)
In this startup, I expanded my role by diving deeper into the product, managing specs and tasks end-to-end, from defining needs to delivering solutions. I also had a greater impact on shaping what was prioritized and when it was executed, moving beyond just how things were done
↳ Internal flows and needs mapping (blurred content)
I often took the responsibility of reflecting the broader implications of our initial discussions to the founders and teams, highlighting the impact and meaning behind decisions. These early mappings helped shape the product direction and provided the team with a wider perspective before they took on actual tasks
↳ Website & landing pages
A glimpse of the homepage and landing page sections.
As disruptors in the legal industry, I built a brand that moved away from typical attorney imagery, aiming to make the legal world less intimidating and more approachable, friendly, and down to earth for those who found it overwhelming
↳ Custom illustration library
I created and managed a collection of over 250 unique illustrations, tailored specifically for this product, with several dozen contributions from an outsourced illustrator
↳ Intake
The client was guided from the homepage through a short, seamless intake process that mapped their case and offered a quick online assessment. The flow included trust-building elements, such as explanations to assist with decision-making, clarifying why certain questions were asked at each stage, and offering helpful tips as free knowledge along the way
↳ Screens related to purchasing services
The mission was to build trust by offering clarity and transparency through summaries and providing insight into what would come next
↳ Client side screens & notifications
Each phase of the product had a dedicated design that included content for the screens and sets of notifications. The design reflected all associated efforts and tasks that were in the pipeline at the time
↳ Product flow overview
Along with the content, there was an overview of every trigger, junction, screen, and notification to reflect what was in production and what was in process
↳ Tone of voice & microcopy
I developed the brand’s Tone of Voice & Microcopy guide, which served as the 'bible' for maintaining consistent communication across interfaces and marketing. Following its establishment, I managed the company’s microcopy as a core part of the brand identity, reinforcing trust and familiarity through every interaction
↳ Admin: Platform for attorneys and customer support
Built for attorneys and customer support, it managed the intricate workflows that drove the client experience. Every action taken there served as a trigger, seamlessly connecting clients, colleagues, and processes. It was where the complexity was orchestrated to ensure both sides were aligned, creating a unified, efficient, and impactful journey for all users
