Case study

Wanna see
something funny?

While leading design at Comedy.com, we received a surprise invitation to VidCon, a massive conference for video creators and fans

An incredible
opportunity

With only a few days to prepare, we were just starting out. We had an early stage iOS app filled with funny content, but zero marketing assets, no website, and no brand identity. We needed to act fast on a razor thin budget

The two-button
homepage

We built a simple homepage with cheeky copy and two buttons. One linked straight to the App Store, while the other featured a crying Android icon inviting Google users to join a waitlist

Something
to hand out

To introduce the app naturally, we mapped the most common iPhone models and produced vibrant custom phone cases. It was the fastest way to turn digital pixels into real world presence

Sticking the
punchline

We expanded our humorous copy into a series of custom stickers. Instead of standard corporate flyers, we gave people something funny they actually wanted to keep and paste everywhere

The strategy worked
like magic

The yellow phone cases quickly caught on across the crowd, becoming walking billboards for our app. Creators and attendees flooded our booth, driving downloads and waitlist signups through the roof within hours. Without intending to, we walked out of VidCon with a validated product and a fully formed brand identity
